Katherine Boo presents the job of rubbish scavenging as a painstakingly slow activity. Sunil is a short, young vulnerable boy, and he is battling it to the death, to gather garbage. “… His profession  could wreck a body in a very short time …” Katherine Boo illustrates the picture that it’s not an easy job to collect garbage, as it may seem to be. She also recreates the grim pictures of “maggots  got in broken skin, “gangrene  inching up fingers”and “calves swelling into tree trunks” It was not a pleasant job
